Concert Bands

The Sprayberry Concert Bands are at the core of the music curriculum for the Band of Gold. The Sprayberry concert bands have a sustained tradition of symphonic excellence. Our concert bands have performed in some of the most prestigious concert festivals and performance venues in the county including the world renowned Carnegie Hall. Students performing in the concert bands will have the opportunity to receive a progressive and diverse music education through a sustained participation in the program.

Percussion Methods (Fall Term Only)

All percussion students will spend the Fall semester of the school year in Percussion Methods Class. This is a percussion only class taught by our director of percussion.  Percussion students will be scheduled into band classes for the Spring Term.

Concert Band Classes

All band classes (Symphonic I, Symphonic II, and Concert Band) are referred to as “Concert Band” (CB) due to the fact members of the three bands will present several concerts throughout the year.

Classes Include:

  • Concert Band (1st Block)

  • Symphonic II Band (2nd Block)

  • Symphonic I Band (3rd Block)

  • Percussion Methods (4th Block)

CONCERT BAND REGISTRATION

All students in the Sprayberry Band Classes must register with the band program. This registration is handled by the Sprayberry Band Booster Association (SBBA). Registration includes completing contact, medical and permission forms and paying a yearly fee to be paid during the year to SBBA.

WHY REGISTRATION?

  • Some concert band activities are considered extra-curricular so updated medical forms and permissions must be completed. Examples include: Concerts, After School Rehearsals, Field Trips, Auditions & Honor Bands.

WHY FEES?

  • Fees are used to increase our instructional resources for our students. In addition, these funds are used to:

  • Purchase Instruments

  • Purchase Music

  • Hire qualified instructors for lessons and masterclasses

  • Offset Administration Costs

  • Purchase and Clean Concert Uniforms

  • Concert Venue Rentals

  • Transportation Costs

Uniform Fee:

  • CCSD has a mandated uniform fee for all high school concert programs. This fee is used to purchase new uniforms and is held in a uniform escrow until the new uniform purchase.

Student fees should never prevent a student from participation in the Sprayberry Band. We will always work to find a solution to get your student in the Sprayberry Band. For any questions, feel free to email:
