Sprayberry Band Camps
Band Camps are one of the most memorable activities for any high school band student. Located below is our 2024 Band Camp information. Band Camp attendance is critical to the success of the Band of Gold. Any student participating in marching band is required to attend this includes all wind and percussion musicians and color guard. Camp activities include: Learning marching and playing basics, learning field show music, learning field show drill and choreography, meeting new friends and having tons of fun!
All students planning to do marching band must complete the online registration process.

Head Start Camp is the first band camp of the new band season. It’s Spring Training!
Any student interested in joining marching band should make plans to attend.
Simply want to try out marching band? Come on out. We will play some music, marching around, play some games and have a meet & greet.
Who attends?
Any student zoned for Sprayberry High School for 2024-25
Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion & Color Guard Students
What do you need to bring?
Woodwind or Brass Instrument
Low Reeds, Trombones, Euphoniums, Tubas, Percussion do not need to bring instruments. They are provided.

Summer Band Camp
Summer band camp is our biggest band camp of the year. All students are expected to attend. The students will start learning the Fall marching production and will begin shaping up the 2024 Band of Gold.
Pre-camp (Week 1) is our first Summer camp week. We welcome travelers back to town, the students get reacquainted with their instruments, marching basics and music.
Full Band Camp (Week 2) is our largest camp of the marching season. We begin to put the field show together, learn marching drill, choreography & music. In addition, we have tons of fun with dress up days, camp games, activities and more.
Post Band Camp (Week 3) is our opportunity to take a breath, digest band camp and have a few more rehearsals before school begins. Once the school year starts we will be on our weekly rehearsal schedule. The post camp rehearsals are in the evening which gives the students time to rest during the day.
Attendance at band camps are vital to getting a great start to the season. Review the dates and times below.
Students are expected to attend both Pre-Camp, Full Camp and post camp days.
Camp Dates
What to Bring to camp:
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and athletic footwear for outside activities.
Keep in mind we will be outside for long stretches of time, remember sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc...
Instruments:
Flutes, Clarinets, Saxophones, Trumpets, should plan to bring their instruments
All other students will transfer to marching instruments that are provided by SHS.
Bring a water bottle and make sure you eat breakfast. There will be fruit snacks during breaks but a good breakfast is vital.
All Students should bring a packed lunch for the lunch portion of the day.
2024 DRESS UP/THEME DAYS (Coming Soon)
Each band camp day will feature a theme. These are fun themes and will give the students a opportunity to dress up, play games and have a ton of fun! Participating in the theme is not required and is completely voluntary.
